Website & API update · extension 0.1.55

Follow the person and the idea

  • See who wrote an Idea and when it was posted. The market, timeframe and current status appear together above its title.
  • Resident Chartists can turn their own chart analysis into an Idea and add updates as their view changes. The original analysis and its follow-ups stay connected.
  • Find community polls in their own section. Browse open and past polls, vote and return to the original chat message.
  • Read community material in a simpler extension view, with a link to open it on the website. Extension changes depend on the version installed from your browser store.
Website & API update

Choose the news your room receives

  • Room moderators can add news bots that share PR Newswire press-release headlines and links in chat. Choose categories and words to include or leave out.
  • Preview matching headlines before adding a source. Choose how often it checks, then pause, change or remove it when needed.
  • Each post names the source and links to the original release. Rooms choose their sources; no bot is added automatically.
  • News posts can be read in existing extension versions. The source settings are managed from web chat.
Website & API update

Community badges you can open and read

  • See community badges beside names and open them to view a person’s badge collection, including Resident Chartist.
  • Improve badge pictures and popovers so they stay readable in small panels. Make community names and pictures more consistent across the website and extension.
Website & API updates · extension 0.1.50 and later

Ask the room with a poll

  • Create a community poll in chat, choose one answer and see the results after voting or when the poll closes.
  • Poll creators can choose whether names and answers are shown with the results. That choice is explained before you vote and cannot be changed later.
  • Format community posts with headings, lists, links and emphasis. Keep line breaks when reading and writing messages.
  • Improve private-message sending, member search and saved notification settings. Add staff tools to review new accounts before they can take part.
Website update · extension 0.1.49

More conversation in a smaller panel

  • Make the extension’s compact layout the default, giving messages more room beside your chart.
  • Bring the chart and chat back into focus on the homepage, so it is easier to see how MarketRooms works.
Website update · extension 0.1.48

Easier community navigation and private chats

  • Make community navigation and private-message controls more consistent across the website and extension.
  • Improve broadcast controls, small-screen navigation and notification settings.
Website update · extension 0.1.46

Open broadcasts directly from chat content links

  • Click View content on a broadcast publication to select that session and expand its player above chat, including a player you previously collapsed.
  • Keep an already-open player running when its content link is clicked again. Open an available replay for an ended recorded session, and keep ordinary ideas, lessons and materials in their content views.
  • The extension fix is included in 0.1.46. Availability depends on Chrome and Firefox store review and browser updates.
Website & API update · no extension update required

MarketRooms Official, connected to Global

  • Open Community from Global for the official welcome, a five-minute getting-started lesson, product updates, support information and community rules.
  • Keep the existing Global conversation and history. The official community is public and free; following and notification preferences remain your choice.
  • Support the Community entry in existing extension clients without requiring a Chrome or Firefox store update.
Website update · extension 0.1.45 submitted to Chrome and Firefox

Consistent private-message identity and reliable iOS menu links

  • Load your current public profile in the extension even if you have not posted in the room, so private messages use your uploaded avatar, nickname color and reputation styling.
  • Keep your own website DM avatar in sync with profile changes, including removing an old avatar.
  • Group consecutive private messages from the same person in compact web and extension views, following the desktop five-minute window and keeping separate headers for replies, deleted messages and a new day. Align follow-up text and use consistent 24-hour clocks.
  • Fix account-menu links disappearing before an iOS tap can activate them. Keyboard focus, Escape and outside-tap dismissal remain available.
  • Extension 0.1.45 has been accepted for store review; availability depends on each store’s review and browser rollout.
Website & API update · extension 0.1.44 rollout

Marketing refresh with real product screenshots

  • Refresh the homepage and creator/member pages with current community features and actual interface captures using demo data.
  • Add a public Features page covering ideas, research, lessons, community chat, the extension and the streaming development preview. Link it from site navigation and the footer.
  • Keep feature text in the server-rendered HTML and add Features, Rooms and screenshot URLs to the sitemap. Add repeatable HTTP checks for crawl eligibility, metadata and public screenshot access.
  • Center the website composer’s discussion, typing and send controls, including multiline drafts. Keep the smaller stream header until the viewport or panel exceeds 950px in height.

Community streams — Watch together without leaving chat

  • Preview a room stream in website chat and the extension, with a collapsible player, fullscreen and a separate-window option.
  • Show a stream immediately from Community → Sessions → Show stream now, or schedule a future session. Owners and content editors can enter their own public Kick channel or another broadcaster’s channel; adding it does not start or control the broadcast.
  • Keep stream controls in one compact header. Switch between Broadcast and Replay with one button when an embedded replay is available, and drag the full-width grip to resize the player vertically.
  • Keep resizing available while a stream is offline or a recording is processing, and retain the chosen height when switching between broadcast and replay. Short extension panels give priority to the message composer.
  • Public Kick playback has been checked locally. Kick broadcasts remain public, including inside private rooms; Kick replays use a separate external replay link rather than the embedded replay switch.
  • Protected member and paid-community streams, with signed playback and recordings, are being developed separately. They require provider configuration and real live/replay testing before release.
Website & API update · extension 0.1.44 rollout

Consistent composers and community layouts

  • Try the same compact # discussion picker in website and extension message boxes instead of a separate Post to row. The menu and tooltip identify the destination; ticker discussions highlight the button, and replies lock their destination.
  • Keep the composer on one line when empty, align its controls in taller panels, and anchor them at the bottom as a multiline message grows. Hide the destination picker when there are no ticker choices or historical destination details to show.
  • Refine community Ideas, About and discussion layouts with aligned search and filter controls, tighter instrument badges, clearer host rows and consistently spaced resource actions.
  • Bring Research, Sessions and Learning to the extension community navigation using the same section labels as the website. Tighten lesson cards and align website menu, notification and compact title styling.
  • Make the extension’s muted-room indicator a clickable, keyboard-accessible shortcut to Notification settings, with hover feedback and an explanation of what is muted.
  • Add breathing room around chat resource buttons in both clients and a subtle horizontal scrollbar when extension room-category tabs overflow.

Web and extension 0.1.43 — Smoother typing and reliable compact controls

  • Keep mobile message typing out of full web-chat page renders, reducing work on each keystroke while preserving the draft and composer focus.
  • Correct overlapping room headers, pinned-room actions and community controls at narrow extension widths, including ultra-compact mode.
  • Keep online-user and other popovers within the available viewport instead of clipping their content at the panel edge.
  • Make the muted-room indicator reflect both room sound preferences and the global mute setting. Align notification preference rows and their separators across shared settings controls.

Mobile communities — Header alignment and notification settings

  • Reduce wasted header space in mobile community chat, including rooms viewed by their owner, and align room navigation, instruments and message filters.
  • Align notification icons and text, and make notification settings and related checkboxes more consistent between the website and extension.

Web and extension 0.1.42 — Shared dropdowns

  • Use the same dropdown component and styling across the website and extension, including instrument, message and discussion-destination selectors.
  • Position menus above or below their control according to available space, keep them clear of clipping containers, and support keyboard navigation and visible selection states.
  • Keep dropdown text readable at compact sizes and apply consistent sizing, spacing and theme colors across both clients.

Extension 0.1.40–0.1.41 and web — Readable controls and hover states

  • Correct clipped dropdown menus and text, and bring direct-message username search and Retry controls into the shared visual style.
  • Align enable/disable controls and sound settings with the other preference checkboxes instead of squeezing their labels into narrow columns.
  • Keep primary action text readable on hover and keyboard focus, and correct related contrast problems in the light theme.

Web, API and extension 0.1.39 — Communities and unified notifications

  • Browse community Updates, Ideas, Research, Sessions, Learning and Resources on the website, with focused community reading and chat references in the extension.
  • Follow an idea’s original thesis, status and dated follow-ups together. Save community content, follow ideas for new updates, and track completed lessons.
  • Find material by instrument, type or library search. Scheduled sessions can include join and replay links, and lessons have a clear sequence.
  • Publish supporting images, recordings, documents and links with room content, and discuss individual items without losing their context.
  • Bring community activity, follows and direct-message notifications into consistent notification controls, with shared preferences and clearer read state.
  • Add an optional ultra-compact extension layout for more conversation space. Preserve compatibility between older clients and newer APIs, and disable unavailable features when a newer client connects to an older API.
  • Improve private media access, upload cleanup and storage recovery, including initialization on hardened hosts.

Website — Public chat preview and sign-in handoff

  • Preview public room conversations before signing in, while posting, private communities and authenticated chat features remain behind sign-in.
  • Open email or Google sign-in from the chat entry screen and resume the intended room after authentication.
  • Improve preview room navigation and mobile Back behavior so entering or leaving a preview keeps the expected chat destination.

Web, API and extension 0.1.38 — Account setup and navigation

  • Resume unfinished username setup from the website or extension using your existing account. Unfinished profiles stay out of the People directory until a public username is chosen.
  • Move between Dashboard, Account settings, and Preferences through shared navigation, with Dashboard available from the website header.
  • Keep consecutive desktop direct messages compact without a repeated date row. Their clock appears on hover or keyboard focus, and the full date remains available in the tooltip.
  • Refine desktop new-message search with inbox-sized avatars, clearer result spacing, and a consistent search field that fits laptop screens.
  • Reading a private conversation also clears its viewed message notifications. Newer messages and notifications from other conversations remain unread.

Web messages — Restored inbox and clearer dates

  • Restore the desktop direct-message inbox layout, with larger shared avatars, readable previews, and roomier conversation rows.
  • Show the day and send time on older public and private web messages, including Yesterday and recent days, while keeping today's timestamps compact.
  • Keep message text sizing steady when rotating the iOS web app, while retaining pinch zoom and chat text-size preferences.
  • Keep phone chat in portrait: supported installed apps request a portrait orientation, and landscape phones show a turn-upright screen without losing the current conversation or draft.
  • Resume unfinished username setup from the website or extension, and keep unfinished profiles out of the People directory until a public username is chosen.

Web chat — More room for the conversation

  • Reclaim chat height with smaller desktop text, compact headers and a shorter composer. Risk information remains available in the 18+ Info header control.
  • Collapse the room list and drag the community library edge to resize it. Both choices are remembered in this browser; the library also supports keyboard resizing.
  • Filters adapt to the space between the panels, while market tabs and writing controls stay compact in short windows.

Web, API and extension 0.1.37 — Community library and account refinements

  • Change your sign-in email from Account → Security & data by verifying codes sent to both your current and new inboxes. Your account stays intact, and other sessions are signed out after confirmation.
  • Fix duplicate messages when opening a mention or message notification. The server correction also improves nearby-message pagination and works with existing extensions without an extension update.
  • Keep the website account menu, notification count, and extension-button state steady between pages. Avatar photos no longer flash initials while loading; initials remain the fallback for missing or failed images.
  • Web chat profiles gain Follow and the shared Block/Report controls. The muted-room icon opens sound settings and distinguishes room muting from all sounds being muted.
  • Increase message text to 16px in full desktop web chat while preserving compact and phone sizing. Refine the header account button without changing shared avatar styling.
  • Put the creator link alongside the communities heading on wide screens, with wrapping on smaller screens. Remove the duplicate legal notice below the sign-in form while retaining the required consent checkbox.
  • Community rooms gain a compact Room info area for the host, rules, and curated analysis and resources. Owners and room moderators can publish content that members can open directly from a chat reference, including in the extension.

Web, API and extension 0.1.36 — Accounts, profiles and safer messaging

  • The website gains an account dashboard and header menu with access to your profile, messages, account settings, preferences, and sign-out. Header notification counts refresh without opening an extra chat connection.
  • Manage optional product-update emails in contact preferences. Marketing consent is separate from the required account terms.
  • Use consistent avatar colors and image fallbacks across chat, notifications, account menus, and profiles. Extension profile cards have compact message/follow actions, expandable badges, and Block/Report controls.
  • Withdraw a pending message request without creating a way to repeatedly contact the recipient. Reply and reaction controls stay disabled until the request is accepted, and private-message menus match public chat controls.
  • React with Helpful, Not helpful, Agree, Disagree, Questioning, Watching, Funny, or Thanks. The picker fits narrow screens, and existing Insightful reactions remain visible.
  • Open received charts and images in a dismissible viewer in public and private web chat. Supported installed extensions can also be opened in the browser sidebar from the website.
  • Preserve the target message when a notification opens chat and the connection refreshes. Includes website security updates and more reliable reaction synchronization.
  • Website and API deployed on 8 October. Extension 0.1.36 was submitted to Chrome and Firefox; availability depends on each store’s review and rollout.

Chat recovery, message appending and chart uploads

  • Web chat recovers more reliably after being idle. Consecutive eligible plain-text sends append to one message, and updates reach connected clients without briefly removing the message.
  • Shorten the wait between screenshot uploads, increase the daily chart-upload allowance, and explain upload-limit errors more clearly.
  • Add a dedicated Your communities destination for managing rooms you own and preserve vote previews during navigation.
  • Extension changes prepared as 0.1.35 were included in the subsequent 0.1.36 submission.

Community pages and creator management

  • Community pages use stable, readable room URLs for sharing and discovery.
  • Approved creators can manage their communities and publish room imagery. Room creation follows creator approval; ticker rooms retain their separate automatic lifecycle.
  • Improve community review and management tools, room-image uploads, and creator-page navigation.

Communities, direct messages and the notification inbox

  • Discover community pages by market category and explore creator offerings, with support for free and paid communities where enabled.
  • Direct-message requests let recipients accept, decline, block, or report unwanted contact. Pending requests restrict messaging and attachments until accepted; accepted conversations support image sharing.
  • Direct-message notifications open the relevant conversation. The notification inbox supports loading more entries, deleting notifications, and clearer unread counts.
  • Improve unread-badge contrast and switch web chat to its compact layout in windows shorter than 640px, as well as at narrow widths.
  • Improve attachment cleanup and media reliability, and introduce the website’s creator information pages.

Extension 0.1.34 and web chat — Consistent controls and mobile layout

  • Web room options now include saved text size and sentiment visibility, room aura leaderboards, room reload and connection controls, followed rooms and profile/support shortcuts. Playful activity aligns with the message timeline.
  • TradingView integration avoids blank embedded chat frames and clears the watchlist highlight while MarketRooms is open in the shared drawer.
  • Multiline message composers have more writing room in both the extension and web chat, without bulky internal scrollbars.
  • Hover over a message timestamp to see its full date and time, including seconds and the local time zone.
  • The web avatar dialog includes community aura, its tier, and Long/Short vote totals alongside social interactions.
  • Web message menus provide reply, reactions, reporting, mute and block controls, with confirmation before muting or blocking. Reply and reaction buttons stay visible at desktop widths, and reaction counts appear after the reaction button.
  • Mobile web chat uses the standard filter menu with all five filters, consistent avatars, compact sentiment controls, aligned announcements and equal spacing around navigation buttons.
  • Mobile Back closes open chat overlays first, and the chat offers installation guidance on supported phones.

Extension 0.1.33 — Stable scrolling and message actions

  • Keep the conversation position steady when the message composer changes height.
  • Keep message actions aligned beside timestamps without shifting message metadata. Reaction pickers remain clickable when the pointer leaves the message row, and rapid reaction changes no longer overlap.

Extension 0.1.32 and web — TradingView integration and sound controls

  • Restore the optional in-chart TradingView chat experience while keeping the browser sidebar available. Website integration remains opt-in through extension permissions.
  • Manage room sound preferences from account settings and use a compact floating Jump to latest control when reading older messages.
  • Preserve the live-edge scroll position through web-chat layout changes, use readable room names in notices, and make interaction failure and relocation notices dismissible.
  • Update transactional email delivery and the related privacy disclosure, alongside server security maintenance.

Extension 0.1.31 and web — Community badges, support and scroll stability

  • Keep chat pinned to the latest messages while typing and reacting, with corrections to community navigation found during end-to-end testing.
  • Introduce managed community badges and private support conversations. Room moderation and badge permissions follow the rooms assigned to each moderator.
  • Count distinct room viewers more accurately and refine account and room-management controls for administrators.

Extension 0.1.28–0.1.30 and web — Compact writing and stable message menus

  • Jump back to the latest messages after reading older conversation history, and keep extension message menus steady while moving between timestamps and hover actions.
  • Reduce mobile header and composer framing, align announcements and send controls, and offer phone-specific installation guidance.
  • Improve account-settings layouts, history paging and account-name validation, with additional server dependency security fixes.

Extension 0.1.27 and API — Room management and older-client compatibility

  • Let administrators manage rooms and adjust their directory order.
  • Keep messages visible to older extension clients while rolling out changes to consecutive-message handling.

Extension 0.1.26 — Compact chat corrections

  • The compact message filter now uses the light theme's white menu surface and dark text.
  • Consecutive plain-text sends from one trader become one message with one Long/Short choice. A vote, reply, other activity, or media attachment starts a new message.
  • Online user lists avoid per-row paint containment, which could make rows appear late during scrolling.

Extension 0.1.25 — Chat and sign-in polish

  • The sidebar now opens to a focused sign-in view, and sign-in from extension pages opens a reliable browser tab after sign-out.
  • Consecutive messages from one trader appear as one visual run while each post keeps its own link and moderation controls.
  • Refined compact composer sizing, light-theme filters, profile colors, and send feedback. The optional TradingView in-page launcher is retired.

Extension 0.1.24 — Light theme

  • Choose a light or dark theme in the extension's Appearance settings. The choice follows you across the sidebar, settings, welcome guide, and chart capture.
  • Refined light-theme colors and contrast across chat controls, room banners, the bull/bear score, reconnect state, and settings buttons.
  • Submitted to Firefox Add-ons and the Chrome Web Store; availability follows each store's review and rollout.

Extension 0.1.23 — Community aura

  • Trader profiles and the leaderboard now call the reputation score community aura and show the Long/Short totals behind it.
  • The People directory gained Recently active and Top aura sorting, with a cleaner display for new accounts.

Extension 0.1.22 — Maintenance

  • Version and store release maintenance; no new extension features were added in this version.

Extension 0.1.21 — Clearer chart-capture guidance

  • When optional page access is off, chart capture now explains why it cannot read the tab and points to the affected platform permissions.

Extension 0.1.20 — Easier first-time setup

  • A new welcome guide opens the sidebar and shows illustrated steps for pinning the extension in Chrome and Firefox.
  • Sign-in is more consistent between the sidebar and Account settings, and sign-out now warns when server session revocation fails.

Extension 0.1.19 — More reliable sign-in

  • Improved email and Google sign-in handoff between the website and extension, including the option to choose a different account when signing in explicitly.

Extension 0.1.18 — More perpetual markets

  • Recognizes Bybit USDT perpetuals, OKX USDT swaps, Kraken Pro USD perpetuals, and Coinbase Advanced INTX perpetuals in the browser sidebar.
  • Spot and perpetual charts for the same asset share a room while keeping the active chart's market context up to date.

Five more platforms (0.1.17)

  • Chat beside Binance Spot and USDT/USDC futures, Bybit Spot, OKX Spot, Kraken Pro Spot, and Coinbase Advanced Spot. Enable optional page access for each platform in extension settings; these five use the browser sidebar.
  • Chart capture on Binance, Bybit, OKX, Kraken Pro and Coinbase Advanced stays within the price chart. Review, crop and cover sensitive details before posting; visible chart overlays are not removed automatically.
  • Bigger reaction-picker emoji, more reliable profile links from @mentions, and a better-aligned text-size slider. Terms and risk disclosures are now separate from optional analytics settings.

Website — Sign-in protection, profiles and mobile reliability

  • Add server-verified bot protection to hosted sign-in, fit its challenge to narrow forms, and avoid repeated challenges during login.
  • Make @mentions interactive even before a profile has been cached, keep username interaction colors consistent, and complete the chat account menu.
  • Correct compact profile popovers, mobile notification scrolling and viewport behavior, and reduce background work while scrolling chat.

Extension 0.1.16 and web — Chat usability, activity and moderation

  • Refine chat scrolling, room activity and moderation controls, with a categorized emoji picker and clearer interaction history.
  • Improve chart-capture editing and reporting tools, and make room navigation and community controls more consistent.
  • Align website votes, avatars, room options and announcements with the extension while keeping chat controls separate from public-page styling.
  • Improve connection handling and message-list performance, and make moderator popovers dismiss reliably.

Extension 0.1.14–0.1.15 — Community identity and structured analysis

  • Introduce profile badges, Resident Chartist review tools and structured analysis for approved contributors.
  • Add room social interactions, limited message formatting and larger standalone emoji, with refinements to profiles and responsive chat layouts.
  • Improve scrolling, popovers and moderation controls, and keep chartist review tools distinct from staff access controls.

Extension 0.1.13 and web — Capture, notifications and room navigation

  • Capture a chart from the extension toolbar while keeping the sidebar open, with corrections to Chrome capture and embedded upload handling.
  • Add a notification center, clickable room references and clearer room navigation and activity controls.
